Some Sketches from Lanzarote

I took my painting kit and some very small canvasses on holiday this year. Here are a few. (One is still on Lanzarote because it found a friend there!)

Blowing in the Wind

PrintmakingPosted by Angela Heidemann Fri, November 04, 2011 21:39
Remember the 'Scottish hurricane' we've had at the end of September?

I lay in my bed one Sunday morning while the gales were thrashing the first autumn leaves around the house. Still half in the land of Nod, I grumpily ruminated on how much I was not looking forward to dog walking when this image popped into my head.

I have named it 'The Perils of Dog Walking'. If the weather carries on so contrary, there might be other Perils to follow. Who knows what else I will encounter on my daily trudge out of the land of Nod.

Bon Papillon

ExhibitionsPosted by Angela Heidemann Wed, November 02, 2011 20:31
Since the beginning of the month you can see my pictures in Edinburgh as well.

Bon Papillon is a gallery, cafe and framer. The owners Ingrid and Stuart are not only lovely, Ingrid is also a wonderful artist and it is one of my ambitions to buy one of her pictures before the year is out. Stuart does the framing and between them they also cook up some pretty tasty grub in their cosy cafe.

To make your trip there even more worthwhile, they are currently exhibiting work by my friends and favourite artists Senja Bownes and Tom Sutton-Smith. So come have a look!

Bon Papillon is at 15 Howe Street, Edinburgh EH3 6TE
